What is tracked
Four gates per division and class year: coaches can contact you; coaches can extend offers; official visits allowed; unofficial visits allowed. A logged call, text or visit is checked against the gate that applies to that prospect's division and graduation year, and flagged when it falls outside the window.
Only D1 class-year communication dates are published to players as guidance, because Division I's rule (coaches may call, text or email from August 1 before junior year) is the one verified against a current NCAA source. Division II and III rows stay in the coach-side engine; the player pages point to the NCAA's own division guides instead of publishing a date Sightline has not re-verified.
How it is kept current
Rules live in a table with a per-row verification date, and the recruiting guide's static prose carries its own reviewed-on stamp — last 2026-09-05. When the NCAA changes a window the row changes; the flag logic does not.
What it does not claim
Sightline compliance flags are informational and based on published NCAA recruiting rules and calendars for the selected division. They do not constitute compliance advice. Always verify with your institution's compliance office.
